the girl gazed forlornly at the kaleidoscopic image that had unfoled before her -- a stark contrast to what lay inside her. Her world was monochromatic, devoid of cheer and gaiety. She sat alone watching groups of children shrieking in delight at the sudden rupture of colours. Nothing escaped her eye -- the knowing gesture of lovers, the glance between best friends, the obvious fun they were experiencing. As she sat, ostracized, she realised that she had misplaced part of herself, in the process of seeking for perfection.
